Email overload effects on productivity!These days’ internet facilities are available with most of the offices and organizations. There are internet services to make our job easier and to lessen the workload on the persons working there. We all know that a computer can alone do various work of more than one person easily. Thus we need to learn the computer very well for getting a good work, and avoid Email overload. Even if a computer can do all the work of many persons together, there are some faults of the machine that leads to problems. All the companies want good productivity and effectiveness from its workers. These days work requires a wide use of emails for receiving different information. However, if there is too many information in the inbox, it becomes very difficult for the person to deal with them. Many a times, the inbox is full of mails that need answers. However, sometimes there is an email overload due to too many mails at one time at the inbox. This is a situation when you are stressed and angry. You cannot answer all the questions and leaves some of the messages overlooked. This results in an information overload or email overload. Email overload creates problem in innovation and hampers the productivity of a person as well as the company. The company suffering from the problem of information overload loses a lot of money in the process. There are also problems of good communication because the mails left pending affects proper distribution of the message. The problem of productivity is the result of many reasons together and not just the filing emails full with the unwanted and unused emails. There are some basic methods to follow that increases the productivity and lessen the problem of email overload. Some of such methods are outlined below. If possible, do not try to answer everybody with emails. Make a call or meet with the person to talk about the problem and solve the problem. Do not combine many topics and requests in one email. Search for the important email by seeing the subject of the mail and answer only those that are urgent. If you do not want others to fill your inbox with unwanted mails, stop doing them yourself also. Many times, we also get angry if we do not get answers from the persons whom we sent mails. This way we end up sending more mails to get an answer creating problems for the person reading the mail. If you yourself send emails, see that they are easy to read and understand. Otherwise, it would be a problem for the person reading the mail. Try to make the communication as easy as possible for the person reading your writing. Problem with filing email is that it wants an organized email. So many things need association that sometimes you feel weak and stressed. Therefore, the filing is a difficult task. It requires the items to store in a file but the option of such a file is endless. There are simple methods of lessening the email overload.
